Consultant Psychiatrist - Clinical Director

Ipswich is looking for a clinical director to support Community and Acute Team (Psychiatry) while they undertaken permanent recruitment, with the possibility of extension.

About the Role

The Clinical Director, Community and Acute Services provides clinical leadership to the community mental health teams, inpatient units, the Community Care Unit, Alcohol, and Other Drugs Service, Acute Care Team, Child and Youth Services and other specialist services. As a key member of Mental Health, Addictions, Custodial Health and Specialised Services, this role will work closely with the leadership team to optimise resources, share innovation and to ensure consistent change practices, bringing clinical objectives and medical engagement to strategic programs and projects across the Health Service.

This role reports operationally to Executive Director Mental Health, Addictions, Custodial Health and Specialised Services and professionally to Chief Medical Officer.

About the Successful Candidate

Success in this role will be assessed on ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience:

• An understanding of the Models of Service Delivery framework and how these models guide Mental Health service delivery.
• Within scope of practice, provide leadership and accountability for the day-to-day activity of the mental health service.
• Possession of well-developed clinical knowledge and skills in mental health care and in the management of contemporary mental health service delivery

Mandatory requirements

• Registration or eligibility for specialist registration as a psychiatrist with the Medical Board of Australia.
• This position will be required to travel and work across all sites within West Moreton Mental Health, Addictions, Custodial Health and Statewide Services which includes The Park - Centre for Mental Health, Ipswich Hospital and Community Mental Health and ATODs Sites.
• A Queensland Corrective Services check will be undertaken on persons recommended for employment.
• Pre-employment screening, including criminal history and discipline history checks, may be undertaken on persons recommended for employment.

Rates:
$2,970 per day

Dates:
ASAP - 3 months with the possibility to extend
