A coastal hospital in far north Queensand in need of assistance from a Consultant Psychiatrist for their addictions setting.

Service Info:
The role involves providing specialist AOD and psychiatric assessment, treatment, and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team, supporting individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Suitable for applicants with experience in addiction psychiatry, a commitment to recovery-oriented care, and the ability to work collaboratively across service settings. No dedicated or allocated inpatient beds but there is day admissions at the Day Withdrawal Service (DWS) for alcohol withdrawal management, which can accept up to 6 patient. The role may provide cover to the In-Hospital Team (IHT) which provides CL-AOD input for acute MH inpatients, or other patients admitted at the Cairns Hospital ED for medical or surgical reasons
