We are seeking Consultant Psychiatrists interested in a full-time, permanent position in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry team in Rotorua.

This service provides specialist mental health services for children, adolescents and their families who have moderate-to-severe mental health conditions. You would be joining a multidisciplinary team that works collaboratively with other community agencies to provide holistic and appropriate services to the patients.

The successful applicant will bring previous experience and knowledge in Child & Adolescent services, that will contribute to advanced care of youth in the community. The service is seeking a clinician with strong clinical competencies, with excellent communication and decision-making skills.

Essential requirements:

  • You must have or be eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in a vocational and/ or locum tenens Psychiatry scope of practice, with no restrictions to your APC.
  • Ideally you will have obtained FRANZCP or near completion.
  • Experience within the community based Mental Health Service
  • Must be legally able to work in New Zealand
