About the Practice:

This respected Kaupapa Māori health provider delivers comprehensive primary care services across three rural practices, supporting a combined enrolled patient population of approximately 15,000 patients. The role will be primarily based at their Tarawera Centre while also providing clinical support and supervision across the wider service network.

As a recognised teaching practice, the successful candidate will be approachable, collaborative and willing to support colleagues through supervision, mentoring and day-to-day clinical guidance. A commitment to working within a Kaupapa Māori framework is essential.

About the Role:

  • Vocationally Registered General Practitioner
  • Clinical supervision of overseas-trained doctors
  • Primarily based at Tarawera clinic with involvement across three practice sites
  • Rural general practice with opportunities to utilise rural medicine skills
  • PRIME
  • Teaching and mentoring responsibilities within a learning-focused environment
  • Open to permanent or fixed-term appointments
  • Minimum 12-month commitment preferred

Remuneration:

Salary: $140,000 - $150,000 per annum

Candidate Requirements:

  • Fellow of The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (FRNZCGP) or equivalent vocational registration
  • Eligible to provide supervision for overseas-trained doctors
  • Strong cultural competency and commitment to equitable healthcare outcomes
  • Interest in rural medicine and community-focused practice
  • Teaching and mentoring mindset
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
