Locum Consultant Psychiatrist - Forensic Mental Health

A metro health service has an opportunity available for an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to support their Forensic & Secure Mental Health team.

Service Info:

This role sits within a High Security Inpatient Service providing specialist forensic psychiatric care to a cohort of approximately 12 patients. The service delivers comprehensive assessment, treatment, and risk management for individuals requiring secure mental health care, supported by a multidisciplinary team including psychiatry, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, and specialist forensic clinicians.

The position is well‑supported with stable patient turnover and established clinical structures. Applicants with prior forensic experience are preferred, and completion of Authorised Doctor Mental Health Act training is considered highly desirable. Consultants will provide inpatient psychiatric care, contribute to multidisciplinary reviews, and support statutory and legislative requirements relevant to forensic mental health practice.

Rates:

$2,300 per day

Dates:

ASAP - 29/06/2026 (Monday - Friday, 08:00-16:30)
