Position: Intensivist Specialist
Contract: Permanent full time
Location: Gippsland, Victoria
Our client's hospital is a purpose built fully integrated facility with 289 beds located in Gippsland, less than two hours from Melbourne. On site speciality support is provided for paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, general medicine, general surgery, orthopaedics, intensive care, urology, psychiatry, geriatric, rehabilitation and cancer care medicine.
Gippsland is a region in south-eastern Australia, extending from Melbourne's eastern suburbs to the New South Wales border, and encompassing beaches, farmland, mountains and lakes. At its southernmost point is Wilsons Promontory National Park, with bushland, wildlife, and beaches. Walhalla, a former gold mining town in west Gippsland, features the restored Walhalla Goldfields Railway and preserved Walhalla Gold Mine.
" Provide medical clinical leadership within the Critical Care Unit working in collaboration with Nurse Unit Manager (or designated Nurse in charge of the shift) to ensure safe, appropriate and person-centred health care.
" Provide specialist Intensivist services, within the credentialed scope of practice to patients.
" Collaborate with other Intensivists and Medical Specialists. This includes performing a share of on-call duties and responsibilities.
" Fulfil the credentialing and scope of practice requirements of our clients. This will include the provision of all required documentation including yearly updates of Medical Board registration, medical indemnity, continuous professional development and a 12 monthly performance review.
" Promote and encourage compliance with appropriate professional college for maintenance of professional standards programs.
" Work towards the provision of best practice care to all patients in the context of current professional knowledge and organisational strategic direction / resources.
To be eligible for this position you must have:
o Full eligibility to work in Australia
o Current registration as Medical Practitioner with AHPRA OR eligibility for Provisional AHPRA via the Competent Authority Pathway
o MBBS or equivalent essential
o Fellowship with the CICM
