Old Age Consultant Psychiatrist

Global Medics, in conjunction with Northlands Mental Health and Addiction Service is seeking an Old Age Consultant Psychiatrist to support the needs of Northlands older population.

This fixed-term, full-time position, extending until April 2024, offers a rare opportunity for an experienced Psychiatrist to work in a community-based mental health team, providing services primarily to the elderly population throughout Northland.

The role, based in Whangarei, may require travel to rural clinics, offering a diverse and fulfilling work experience.

To qualify for this position, the successful candidate must have or be eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in either a vocational or locum tenens - special purpose Psychiatry scope of practice. While FRANZCP and post-graduate qualifications are advantageous, the service are open to hearing from those nearing completion of their studies. If you are currently overseas or not yet registered, Global Medics can assist you with the application process to obtain MCNZ registration.

Essential Requirements:

- You must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or eligible for registration.

- If you are an overseas applicant, you must be eligible to apply for a relevant work visa.
