I am seeking experienced Consultant Psychiatrists specialising in youth forensic psychiatry for part-time positions in the Forensic Service in the Northland region. Ideally, we are looking for applicants who want to come permanently, however, if you are wanting to come for a shorter term to experience working and living in New Zealand, I would love to hear from you also.

About the job:

We are seeking an experienced Psychiatrist to assess and support young people involved in the youth justice system. This vital role provides clinical leadership within Te Roopu Kimiora (TRK) and contributes effectively to multidisciplinary teams across our Mental Health and Addiction Services. Ideally, candidates will have prior experience in both inpatient and community settings, working with children and youth, including collaboration with justice systems.

Essential requirements:

• You must have or be eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in a vocational and/or locum tenens Psychiatry scope of practice, with no restrictions to your APC.
• Experience in Forensic Psychiatry.
• Must be legally able to work in New Zealand
