This service is an accredited major referral and teaching hospital and has bed base of more than 500. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services

The Mental Health Service encompasses a large geographical area with broad diversity in populations. The district includes metropolitan, regional, and rural populations, socio-economic diversity and special populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities.
